Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia

On February 22, 2021,the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mr. Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia Mr. Refik Shabanovic.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on current cooperation and opportunities for further cooperation.

The parties agreed to develop bilateral cooperation, deepen partnership, in particular the implementation of investment projects in priority areas, including the signing of an Agreement between the Government of Tajikistan and the Government of Croatia on economic cooperation and the creation of a Joint Commission between Tajikistan and Croatia, the parties also agreed to sign an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation and development of other important areas.

Zavqizoda Z.A. proposed, taking into consideration the successful experience of Croatia in the production of pharmaceutical products, with the involvement of well-known companies and investors of this country to create joint ventures on the territory of the FEZ of the Republic of Tajikistan, for the production of pharmaceutical products and processing of essential products.

It was noted that the Republic of Tajikistan has rich natural resources and potential for the production of pharmaceuticals and agricultural products, as well as rich variety of natural plants, fruits and vegetables.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to expand and effectively use bilateral cooperation in various areas of the economy.
