Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea

On October 19, 2021, in the city of Dushanbe, within the framework of the fourth session of the intergovernmental commission between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Korea on economic, scientific and technical cooperation, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea for Economic Affairs Lee Song Ho.

Zavqizoda Z.A. noted that thanks to the wise and far-sighted policy of the leaders of the two countries, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Emomali Rahmon and the President of the Republic of Korea H.E. Moon Jae-in, relations have reached a qualitatively new level.

Zavqizoda Z.A. in this regard noted that although bilateral trade has grown in the first nine months of this year, its volume does not satisfy us, in accordance with the wide range of relations between the two countries. In order to develop trade and economic cooperation and bilateral investments, it was proposed to create joint industrial enterprises for the production of textile, aluminum, electrical and food products using existing bilateral capacities in the free economic zones of the Republic of Tajikistan with the involvement of Korean investments, it is also necessary to take part in the construction and reconstruction of energy and digital economies, which were well received by the Korean side.

The Korean side stressed that increases financing to strengthen cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan.

At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed their readiness to expand fruitful cooperation.
