Economists' Day celebration at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade

On April 7, 2023, a solemn meeting was held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade in honor of the Day of Economists with the participation of the leadership and employees of the central office of the ministry.

It should be noted that in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Holidays", every year in the country April 8 is celebrated as the Day of Economists.

The Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin congratulated the country's economists and employees of the Ministry on their professional holiday and noted that thanks to the wise policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, economists contribute to the solution of important socio-economic issues countries and participate in ensuring sustainable economic development and, on this basis, raising the standard of living of the people.

In view of this, over the past twenty years, the economic development of the country has been provided annually at an average of 7.3 percent, and the gross domestic product has amounted to 4.8 billion somoni in 2003 to 115.7 billion somoni in 2022.

In particular, the economic development of the country in 2022 amounted to 8 percent, which was mainly due to an increase in industrial production by 15.4 percent, agriculture by 8 percent, freight traffic by 26.1 percent, paid services by 16 percent, financing fixed capital by 11.4 percent, trade turnover by 11.2 percent and passenger traffic by 11.1 percent.

Currently, employees of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade are guided in their work by the following statement from the Message of the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan:

“The supreme goal of the state and the Government of the Republic is to ensure the sustainable economic development of the country by increasing the efficiency of the use of available resources and opportunities, searching for new sources of development, promoting the fields of science, education, healthcare, building human potential, thanks to which we will constantly strive to increase and improve the level and the quality of life of the glorious people of Tajikistan.”

At the end of the event, a number of employees of the Central Office were awarded Diplomas of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan for meritorious services on the Day of Economists of the Republic.
