Holding the next meeting of the Interdepartmental Headquarters to coordinate the implementation of macroeconomic policy and prevent the impact of potential risks on the national economy

December 18, 2023 in order to carry out the instructions and instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, in the direction of reducing the impact of potential risks on the national economy and the process of implementing the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated March 18, 2022, No. 116 " On the Action Plan to Prevent the Impact of Potential Risks on the National Economy”, a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Headquarters for coordinating the implementation of macroeconomic policy and preventing the impact of potential risks on the national economy was held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade under the leadership of First Deputy Minister Solehzoda A. A.

At the beginning of the meeting, Solehzoda A. A. noted that as a result of taking the necessary measures within the framework of the instructions and instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, the stability of macroeconomic indicators has been ensured, regardless of the influence of external factors, for 10 months By 2023, the gross domestic product amounted to 104.7 billion somoni and its real development amounted to 8.3%.

During this meeting, one of the important topics was discussed: “Preventing unjustified increases in prices for socially necessary goods”; a report on this issue was heard from the First Deputy Head of the Antimonopoly Service S.N. Kurbonzoda.

It was emphasized that the Antimonopoly Service took a number of necessary measures during 2023 in order to prevent an unjustified reduction in prices for socially necessary goods and products. In particular, meetings were held with the leadership and members of the public organization “Association of Importers and Harvesters of Grain and Grain Products”, Association of “Importers of Petroleum Products and Liquefied Gas”, importers and producers of wheat products, flour, oil, sugar and petroleum products and gave appropriate recommendations with the purpose of stabilizing prices for socially necessary goods and products.

It was also noted that in order to regulate the market for essential goods, the order of the Antimonopoly Service dated September 28, 2023, No. 35 “On establishing the final level of profitability in the list of socially necessary goods and products whose prices are subject to state regulation” was approved, within the framework of which a maximum the level of profitability of wheat processing enterprises, whose activities depend on the production and sale of flour, is up to 10 percent.

Following the meeting, based on the results of the discussion, the Headquarters made appropriate decisions, which will be sent to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the form of a detailed report.
