In order to develop bilateral relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Peoples Republic of China on 14 October 2016 in Dushanbe was held 8-th session of the Joint Tajik-Chinese Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

The Tajik delegation was headed by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Nematullo Hikmatullozoda, while the Chinese delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Commerce the Peoples Republic of China, Mr. Fang Aiqing.

On 14 October 2016 at the National Library of Tajikistan was held the International Business Forum "Dushanbe-2016".

On 13 October 2016, in the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan was held a meeting between the Deputy Minister Umed Davlatzod and the delegation from the World Bank headed by Rajendra Singh.
