On August 10, within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the city of Baku, Azerbaijan, high-level talks between the two countries were held.

Today, at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade was held a press conference with representatives of mass media.

This press conference was attended by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Nematullo Hikmatullozoda, deputy ministers, heads of departments of the Ministry and its subordinate institutions.

The Ministry of economic development and trade of the Republic of Tajikistan with a view to presenting investment opportunities of free economic zones and promoting socio-economic development of the country and, in particular, individual regions, holds international economic forums in different cities and regions of the country.

Last year on October 13 in Dangara the Khatlon region hosted the international economic forum «Dangara-2017. This forum was attended by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, heads of ministries and departments, the executive body of the Khatlon region, international organizations, the diplomatic corps, as well as more than 250 foreign and national investors.

About the activities of free economic zones

For the period of the first quarter of the year 2018 on the territory of the free economic zones of the country was registered 63 national and foreign companies as subjects of FEZ, most of them are in free economic zones “Sughd” and “Dangara”. The 27 companies have already started their production and market the product is in the Republic of Tajikistan and also to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan and to the Russian Federation.

It should be noted that in the current year planned registration of new actors in the free economic zones of the country in industrial, commercial, logistics and other areas.

It will also contribute to the creation of new workplaces, attract innovative technologies, increase of export potential and production development.

On the outcome of the meeting of the Supervisory Council on free economic zones in the Republic of Tajikistan

In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on December 30, 2011 no.664 was established Supervisory Council on free economic zones in the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Supervisory Council on free economic zones in the Republic of Tajikistan is an expert body that coordinates the activities of free economic zones, the activities of ministries and departments, administrations of free economic zones in to the development of free economic zones.

It should be noted that on December 23, 2017 was held a regular session of the Supervisory Council on free economic zones in the Republic of Tajikistan to discuss legal, tax, customs and financial matters. Analytical report of results of the Supervisory Council meeting was submitted to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
