Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin with the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Gennadyevich Reshetnikov

On June 23, 2021, within the framework of the Economic Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on "Strengthening cooperation in the field of digital economy, e-commerce and innovation", the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin met with the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, within which the expansion and further development of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia were discussed.

Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that on May 8, 2021, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, met with the President of the Russian Federation, H.E. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, and at this meeting noted that the Russian Federation remains the main trade and economic partner of Tajikistan.

During the meeting, which was held in an open, friendly and constructive atmosphere, the sides expressed interest in further strengthening cooperation in the fields of digital economy, e-commerce and innovation within the framework of this organization, as well as trade and economic relations between the countries in order to ensure the growth of foreign trade turnover, including the exchange of a list of goods of bilateral supply, the signing of a memorandum between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, to develop and strengthen interregional cooperation within the framework of the agreements, measures were considered to exchange experience between specialists of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation in the field of digital trade development, to establish cooperation in the development of high-quality forecasts, to improve existing modeling mechanisms and the use of new models of socio-economic development and the creation of joint industrial enterprises on the territory of free economic zones of the Republic of Tajikistan.

At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed their readiness for mutually beneficial cooperation and the implementation of these issues.
