Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the Chairman of the Northern Economic Cooperation Committee under the President of the Republic of Korea

On March 3, 2022, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, met with the Chairman of the Northern Economic Cooperation Committee under the President of the Republic of South Korea, Park Jung-soo, in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, within which issues of expansion and further development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries were discussed.

Zavqizoda Z.A. noted that thanks to the wise and far-sighted policy of the heads of the two countries - the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon and the President of South Korea, H.E. Moon Jae-in, relations between the countries are steadily developing and have reached a high level.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the expansion of cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, digitalization, e-commerce, industry, agriculture, investment, migration, export growth, primarily of environmentally friendly agricultural products of Tajikistan to South Korea, further development of social and economic ties.

They also exchanged views on the establishment of joint enterprises in the Republic of Tajikistan, including in the free economic zones of Tajikistan, as well as on the allocation of grants from the South Korean side for the implementation of priority projects of the Republic of Tajikistan, especially in the digital economy, energy, etc.

At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed their readiness to expand mutually beneficial cooperation and implement the above-mentioned issues.
