Meeting of the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the Ambassadors of the EU countries under the leadership of the Ambassador of the European Union in Tajikistan

On May 5, 2023, the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Salekhzod Ashurboy Abduvokhid met with the Ambassadors of the European Union countries under the leadership of the Ambassador of the European Union to Tajikistan.

At the beginning of the meeting, Solehzoda A. A. noted that the Republic of Tajikistan, under the leadership of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, pays special attention to expanding and developing cooperation with the countries of the European Union.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of strengthening cooperation in priority areas, including trade, in particular, the introduction of an e-commerce system in the Republic of Tajikistan, the economy, investment, healthcare, education, energy, rural development, budget support, border security, human rights and the rule of law. law, the green economy, digitalization, the creation of technology parks and digital technologies, participation in financing the construction of the Rogun HPP, as well as the inclusion of the Republic of Tajikistan in the European Union's general system of preferences (GSP+).

At the same time, the prospects for further cooperation within the framework of the multi-annual indicative Program of the European Union for 2021-2027 were discussed.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to comprehensively develop mutually beneficial cooperation and implement the noted initiatives.
