Participation of the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade at the Astana International Forum

On June 8, 2023, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Nuriddinzoda Akhliddin Nuriddin spoke at the Astana International Forum, which took place on June 8-9, 2023 in the city of Ostona of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kosim-Jomart Tokayev, participating in one of its meetings entitled "Central Asia in the multilateral trading system: the importance of joining the World Trade Organization".

Representatives of high-ranking delegations from foreign countries, international organizations, entrepreneurship and academia took part in the work of this Forum, who expressed their opinion on finding solutions to such problems as climate change, food shortages and energy security.

During the meeting of the Forum entitled "Central Asia in the multilateral trading system: the importance of joining the World Trade Organization", the participants exchanged views on further strengthening regional trade, developing transit potential, supporting the process of joining the countries of the region to the World Trade Organization, as well as the prospects for deep integration region into the world economy.

Nuriddinzoda A.N. noted that the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, prioritizes the expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation with the countries of the region, the promotion of exports and its diversification, as well as the facilitation of trade, identified the main direction of the trade policy of the Government of the country.

During his speech, Nuriddinzoda A.N. noted the significant achievements of the Republic of Tajikistan over 10 years of membership in the World Trade Organization, the experience of Tajikistan in the process of joining this organization, as well as the wide trade and economic opportunities of the country, and membership in this organization was recognized as important for developing the production of domestic products, attracting foreign capital, ensuring free trade, entering major world markets and participating in dispute resolution.

At the end, Nuriddinzoda A.N. expressed confidence that today's Forum would make a worthy contribution to the development of mutually beneficial regional cooperation and deep integration of Central Asia into the world economy and called on international organizations and high-ranking representatives of foreign states and entrepreneurs to continue cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan to achieve sustainable development in the future.
