The Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan agreed to take measures to expand trade and economic cooperation between the two countries

On July 7, 2023, the meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin with the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov took place in the city of Baku of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that thanks to the wise and far-sighted policy of the leaders of the two countries, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, respected Ilham Aliyev, bilateral cooperation has constantly developed and reached a high level of reliable partnerships.

During the meeting, in order to fulfill the instructions and orders of the Presidents of the two countries, the parties agreed to implement specific projects in the field of strengthening trade and economic cooperation, the creation of joint industrial enterprises, including within the framework of free economic zones of the Republic of Tajikistan, for the transportation of crude oil from Azerbaijan for the needs of an oil refinery FEZ "Dangara" plant, raising capital for the reconstruction of OJSC "Tajik Aluminum Company", export of aluminum, cryolite and aluminum fluoride from Tajikistan to Azerbaijan, import of alumina from Azerbaijan to Tajikistan, processing of agricultural products, providing discounts for transportation by rail, tourism development , exploration of deposits in Tajikistan and increase in bilateral trade.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for further expansion of trade and economic cooperation.
