Meeting of the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan with the Deputy Assistant Director for Asian Affairs of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)

On September 1, 2023, the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Salehzoda Ashurboy met with the Deputy Assistant Director for Asian Affairs of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Anjali Kaur.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to ongoing projects funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), including trade in Central Asia, the CASA-1000 project, the Future Development Initiative, rural water supply, capacity building activities, natural resource management in Tajikistan, maternal and child health, tuberculosis eradication in Central Asia.

USAID was also requested to help finance the country's strategic goals and evaluate the process of implementing strategic planning documents, including the implementation of the "State Export Development Program for 2021-2025" and the "State Investment Program for 2021." and strengthening borders.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and implement the issues noted.
