Meeting of the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea

On May 28, 2023, the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Solehzoda Ashurboy Abduvahid met with the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea Mr. Ahn Dok-kin in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding in the framework of which the expansion and further development of bilateral cooperation was discussed.

It was noted that thanks to the rational and far-sighted policy of the leaders of the two countries, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, dear Emomali Rahmon and the President of the Republic of Korea, relations between the two countries are constantly developing.

Salehzoda A.A. noted that on the basis of the instructions and instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation – the President of the Republic of Tajikistan - the respected Emomali Rahmon, a number of significant works on digitalization of the spheres of the national economy and e-commerce were carried out in the country. In particular, the concept and program for the development of the digital economy have been adopted, the trade portal of Tajikistan is officially functioning, which today is used by more than 270 thousand people from 40 countries of the world.

The sides discussed issues of expanding cooperation in the fields of trade and economy, digitalization, e-commerce, industry and investment.

During the meeting, which was held in an open, friendly and constructive atmosphere, in order to further strengthen cooperation in the fields of digital economy, e-commerce and innovation within the framework of business and economic ties, events were held to exchange experience between specialists in the field of digital trade development and the creation of joint production enterprises on the territory of free economic zones of the Republic of Tajikistan.

At the same time, the Korean side proposed to consider the issue of further establishing ties between the two countries within the framework of the development of trade and investment cooperation with the conclusion of a memorandum of understanding.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to expand mutually beneficial cooperation and implement the mentioned issues.
