The Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade and the Secretary of the Kashgar District City Committee discussed priority areas of bilateral trade and economic cooperation

On December 22, 2023, in the city of Dushanbe, a meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Nuriddinzoda Akhliddin Nuriddin, with the delegation of the Kashgar district of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, which was headed by the Secretary of the city committee of the said district, Mr. Yao Ning.

Nuriddinzoda A. N. noted that thanks to the far-sighted policies of the leaders of the two countries, the Founder of peace and national unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the People's Republic of China, the respected Xi Jinping, trade and economic cooperation between the countries has reached a new level, and the volume of mutual foreign trade with increases every year.

It was noted that the growth of mutual foreign trade between the countries over the 11 months of this year amounted to 21 percent.

During the meeting, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, the parties discussed priority areas of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including the creation of joint ventures in the territory of free economic zones of the Republic of Tajikistan, the construction of intensive parks and the creation of industrial enterprises for the extraction of minerals and processing of metals to final products in Republic of Tajikistan.

In addition to this, the parties discussed issues of education, healthcare, agriculture, including the supply of environmentally friendly (organic) and unique in taste fruits and vegetables from Tajikistan to China, in particular to the Kashgar district.

Also, the Secretary of the Kashgar District City Committee of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China invited the Tajik side to take part as an honored guest at the Exhibition, which will be held in the city of Kashgar in May 2024.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
