The beginning of high-level events of the UN Special Program on the Economy of Central Asia "SPECA", including the Economic Forum on "Green Development in the SPECA region"

  

On November 26, 2024, at the initiative and with the direct support of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the esteemed Emomali Rahmon, the opening ceremony of high-level events of the UN Special Program for the Economy of Central Asia "SPECA", including the Economic Forum on "Green Development in the SPECA region", was held at the National Library.

 

The Forum was attended by high-level delegations from SPECA member countries, the private sector and international organizations. The forum brought together more than 100 experts in the field of public policy in the areas of green economy development, digitalization of sectors of the national economy, development of a sustainable transport system, attraction of mutual investments and trade facilitation in the region.

On the first day of the Forum, topical issues of green development, targeted use of water resources, climate change and mitigation, the introduction of inclusive and environmentally friendly transport, the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals, trade facilitation, as well as issues of energy sector development were discussed.

In general, the first day of the Forum was rated as productive, and participants were able to exchange views on the issues on the agenda mentioned above.

The results of the Forum will allow the participating countries of the program to bring multilateral cooperation to a new level, implement a unified policy to solve the most important tasks.
