Participation in the 2nd "Central Asia-China" Summit

On June 17, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, took part and spoke at the 2nd "Central Asia-China" Summit in Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan.

The President of our country, Emomali Rahmon, emphasized that further strengthening of the political dialogue within this format can play an effective role in achieving all our creative goals at the regional and global levels.

It was noted that economic cooperation is undoubtedly one of the main elements of close ties between our countries.

"In this direction, we attach particular importance to the implementation of joint projects aimed at further enhancing our multifaceted trade and economic partnership," - said the President of our country, Emomali Rahmon.

The energy sector, including the development of "green" energy, industry, processing of important minerals, transport and freight transportation, as well as the development of agriculture were named as important areas of cooperation between the countries.

In addition, Honorable Emomali Rahmon drew the attention of the Heads of States participating in the summit to the problem of digitalization development, including the introduction of innovative business models, including e-commerce, as a factor stimulating trade and economic relations.

President Emomali Rahmon highly appreciated the prospects that are opening up for the economies of our countries thanks to the development of digital technologies and the introduction of artificial intelligence.

In this regard, the Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, recalled the initiative proposed by Tajikistan in September 2024 to adopt a special resolution of the UN General Assembly on the role of artificial intelligence in creating new development opportunities.

It was pointed out that the implementation of joint projects in the direction of further development of transport and logistics cooperation in the region, simplification of procedures for multimodal cargo transportation and an increase in the volume of mutual trade will also give a powerful impetus to regional economic development.

The Head of our state, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, supported the initiative to work out programs for the development of industrial clusters, which will create additional conditions for attracting investment and technology, stimulating the localization of production.

The President of our country also spoke about the promotion of the "Dushanbe Process for Glaciers' Preservation" to ensure sustainable development and further cooperation in this area.

Important topics of the speech of the Head of our state were also ensuring food security, expanding the region's export potential and logistics of agricultural supplies, forming a "green" economy in the region, as well as harmonizing phytosanitary and veterinary standards.

Honorable Emomali Rahmon also emphasized the issues of strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, including in the field of science and education, increasing the role of youth in society, tourism, and other priority areas.

The Head of our state named the promotion of lasting peace, stability and peaceful life in and around the region as one of the main goals of multilateral cooperation.

The Head of our state, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, said: "We are in favor of further strengthening cooperation in these areas in order to achieve stable and predictable external conditions around our countries for the benefit of the present and future generations." 

In conclusion of his speech, the President of our country expressed confidence that the results of today's event will be successful and fruitful.

The summit, which was attended by the heads of all Central Asian states and China, addressed the most important issues related to the development of cooperation.

In particular, the President of the People's Republic of China emphasized his country's readiness and interest in the comprehensive development of cooperation with the Central Asian states and noted that Central Asia is one of the most priority areas of China's foreign policy.

He also stated that China is ready to share its experience and technologies with the Central Asian countries.

At the end of the summit, the Cooperation Center in the "Central Asia - China" format was opened remotely.

Following the work of the 2nd "Central Asia-China" Summit, a number of important documents were signed, including the Treaty on Eternal Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation and the Astana Declaration.
