Meeting with leaders and activists of Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Province
On June 28, in the city of Khorugh, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with leaders and activists of Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Province.
The President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, analyzed the working trip to a number of cities and districts and the results of the socio-economic development of the region in the five months of this year, and set new tasks for the implementation of the instructions of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan to the officials of ministries, departments and executive bodies of state power.
The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, stated that within the framework of the action plan to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the state independence of Tajikistan, it is planned to build and reconstruct 1,362 facilities in the region, and to date, construction work has been completed on 1,059 facilities for the amount of 3.8 billion somoni, which is 78% of the plan.
It was said that to date, 80 industrial enterprises and workshops, 70 educational facilities, 46 healthcare facilities, 74 sports facilities, 29 cultural facilities, 246 kilometers of roads, 37 bridges and hundreds of other social and industrial facilities have been built in the region.
The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, once again expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to all entrepreneurs, generous individuals and all residents of the Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Province for implementing good and constructive works, contributing to the prosperity and progress of the country, and supporting the initiatives of the Government of the country.
The Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, emphasized that currently, in order to ensure the progress of the cities and districts of the region, the implementation of 9 socio-economic development programs of the region and its cities and districts for 2021-2025 is underway. Since the beginning of the implementation of 869 projects of economic and social importance worth 7.3 billion somoni, 442 projects worth more than 5.7 billion somoni have been implemented to date.
It was instructed that when developing and adopting socio-economic development programs for the coming years, priority attention should be paid to the issues of creating new jobs, rapid industrialization, and the production of goods with high added value.
His Excellency Emomali Rahmon stated that as a result of the support of the Government of the country and the dedicated efforts of the residents of the Province, its cities and districts have been steadily developing, and the living conditions of the population have improved significantly compared to previous years. During the period of independence, more than 25 billion somoni have been allocated from all sources of financing for the development of various socio-economic sectors of the region.
The Head of State emphasized that over the years of independence, 40 state investment projects worth 4 billion somoni have been implemented for the development of the socio-economic sectors of the region, including education and healthcare, transport and energy, and other important sectors of public life, and now the implementation of another 13 projects worth a total of 5.5 billion somoni is ongoing. Only for the construction and reconstruction of international roads, 12 state investment projects worth a total of 2.3 billion somoni have been implemented, and 250 kilometers of roads, one tunnel, and 26 bridges have been put into operation.
The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, set specific tasks for officials to improve the quality of services, develop tourism infrastructure, strengthen construction and economic activities, and save money.
In his closing remarks, the President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, recalled the care of the state and the Government for the younger generations and the creation of modern conditions and opportunities for them, and demanded that intellectuals, activists, and the entire society in general pay primary and constant attention to the issue of education and upbringing as the basis for a prosperous future.
