Participation of the Republic of Tajikistan’s Delegation in the OECD’s “Eurasia Week”

On 19-21 November 2018 the Delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan H. E. Azim Ibrohim participated in the OECD’s “EURASIA WEEK”, which was held in Paris, France.

The head of the Tajikistan’s Delegation has introduced the achievements of the country during the period of independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and noted that in order to further develop economic and political sectors of the country the Government of Tajikistan has approved number of strategic documents, including National Development Strategy for the period until 2030 and Medium term Program for the period of 2016-2020 and on this basis the Government of the country has achieved number of significant achievements.

For instance, annual economic growth rate was maintained by 7%, which lead to reduction of poverty rate of the Republic of Tajikistan from 53% to 30%.

In addition, in this period more than 2000 km of transport roads, 190 km of railways, 30 km of tunnels and 93 bridges were built and put into operation. With the efforts of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan distinguished Emomali Rahmonthe first aggregate of the largest construction of the century - HPP “Roghun” has started operating from 16 November 2018.

Moreover, in the framework of this official visit the bilateral meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan distinguished Azim Ibrohim with the Director of the International Cooperation of OECD Andreas Shaal was held and during this meeting issues on bilateral cooperation, including the growth of the economic competitiveness and attraction of foreign investments were discussed.
