President Emomali Rahmon attends Carnival of Happiness of Navruz in Dushanbe

The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the Mayor of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali attended the Carnival of Happiness of Navruz, a festive event commemorating the international Navruz holiday. The carnival took place in the Dusti Square in Dushanbe.

Prior to the commencement of the cultural program, President Rahmon gave a speech and congratulated all the participants and the glorious people of Tajikistan with the international Navruz holiday.

The Carnival of Happiness of Navruz consisted of 13 different cultural and entertainment sections, including the “Navruz Symbol,” “Heralds of Spring,” “Advent of Spring,” “Flower Distribution Ceremony,” “Sumanak Preparation Ceremony,” “Plowing Ceremony,” “Motherhood- a Symbol of Eternity,” and “Promenade on the Water.” Each section held a special meaning and personified the symbols of the Navruz holiday.

Over 24,000 people participated in the carnival, demonstrating all the traditions of the ancient holiday of the Tajik people.

In closing of the carnival, President Rahmon thanked the Dushanbe Mayor Office and the producers, directors, and the professional as well as amateur artists for bringing the carnival into life.
