The Tajik National Park, which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one the largest mountainous terrain in the world. There is an abundance of natural wonders in this park that covers more 2.5 million hectares of land, including the highest peaks of Central Asia, hundreds of lakes and rivers, spectacular glaciers and hot springs, as well as a variety of rare flora and fauna.

The park contains unique lakes formed by natural phenomenon, including Lake Sarez and Lake Karakul. Lake Sarez is the result of a major earthquake in 1911, which caused a huge landslide that ended up forming the Uzoi Dam, the highest natural dam in the world. Karakul Lake, also known as Black Lake, was formed when a meteorite impact created a huge crater that eventually filled with water.

At this park, visitors can catch a glimpse of the Marco Polo Sheep, Snow Leopard, Tibetan Lynx or other rare species. With over 162 different types of birds, the park is also perfect for bird watching. There are horse riding and mountain climbing activities, as well as over 200 trekking routes of varying levels of difficulties. The hot springs are also used by the local residents and tourists for health treatments and relaxation. Visit this park to see what other natural hidden treasures are waiting to be discovered by you!
