At the 7th meeting of the Cooperation Committee meeting between the Republic of Tajikistan and the European Union, a new 7-year Program for financing the Sectors of the country's Economy was supported.

With the aim to expand cooperation with the European Union, from 6th to 7th June 2019, the seventh meeting Cooperation Committee meeting between the Republic of Tajikistan and the European Union and the second meeting of the Sub- Cooperation Committee were held in Dushanbe.

The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan was headed by Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin - First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, the delegation of the European Union was headed by Luc Devigne - Director of the Russia and Central Asia Department of the European Commission and Raffaella Iodice - Head of the Division for International Cooperation and Development in Central Asia and close partners of the European Commission.

The relevant topics the new Strategy of the European Union, the development of macroeconomic sectors of the Republic of Tajikistan taking into account its regional integration, trade relations, energy and water, foreign policy, the rule of law and human rights were discussed in the meeting.

This meeting was held in a friendly and fruitful atmosphere and main areas of future cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the European Union were identified in the meeting.

In particular, the Parties supported the draft of the new multi-year Indicative Program for the Republic of Tajikistan for the period 2021-2027 to finance the prioritized sectors of the country's economy.

Also for the purpose of sustainable rural development green energy, reducing poverty level of people in remote district   the European Union allocated funds in the amount of 20 million euro for the implementation the HPP «Sebzor».
