Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the UNDP Resident Representative in Tajikistan
On February 22, 2021, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mr. Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin held a working meeting with Ms. Pratibha Mehta, UNDP Resident Representative in Tajikistan.
During the meeting, Mr. Zavqizoda Z.A. exchanged views on the measures taken by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan to prevent the impact of external threats, in particular the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic in the world and its impact on the national economy.
Furthere more, Mr. Zavqizoda Z.A. requested that the assistance and support of UNDP and their divisions to be more focused on the implementation of the strategic goals and priorities of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and state programs. On their behalf, the UNDP Resident Representative in Tajikistan, Ms. Pratibha Mehta, expressed support for this issue and readiness to develop cooperation and attract additional grants for the implementation of state programs of the Republic of Tajikistan.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further expand cooperation in order to prevent the negative consequences of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic to the national economy, support the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), promote the Modeling System and the Action Plan for 2021-2025, the State Export Development Program of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021 -2025 and the medium-term Program of the Digital Economy development of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025.
