Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade took part in the meeting of ministers of SPECA member countries
On April 17, 2023, in the city of Geneva of the Swiss Confederation, a meeting of ministers of the member countries of the United Nations Special Program for the Economy of Central Asia (SPECA) was held as part of the 70th meeting of the United Nations Economic Commission for European Countries (UNECE), which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and trade Nuriddinzoda Ahliddin.
The event was held under the chairmanship of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the initiative of UNECE and the UN Commission on Economic and Social Affairs for the Asia-Pacific Countries (UN ESCAP), during which issues related to the main prospects for the search for the diversification of transit roads and the adoption of the Roadmap in this direction were discussed, facilitation of trade and transport procedures, digitalization and green economy in the region, as well as the establishment of a SPECA fund and secretariat.
Nuriddinzoda A. speaking as the head of the SPECA working group on trade at the event, noted that as a result of the wise instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, a number of significant works were carried out in the republic in these areas, providing information on these issues, presented the position of the country, taking into account the interests of the national economy.
Simultaneously, the event was attended by representatives and experts of other international organizations living in Geneva. It should be noted that the Republic of Azerbaijan leads SPECA this year and plans to host such events as the program's governing council and economic forum in the country.
Also at the end of the meeting, a “Ministerial Declaration” was submitted for consideration to strengthen further cooperation between SPECA member countries.
