The Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan took part in the regular meeting of the CIS Economic Council

.

On September 22, 2023, the 99th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in the form of a videoconference, which was attended by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, healthcare, industry, agriculture, finance, geology, information security and innovation were discussed.

At the beginning, the heads of delegations exchanged views on topical issues of economic cooperation.

It should be noted that the Republic of Tajikistan attaches great importance to the expansion of trade and economic cooperation with the member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

In this regard, more than 51.3% of Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover falls on the CIS countries.

The meeting also discussed the projects of the activities of the sectoral bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of economics for 2018-2023, the Action Plan for the implementation of the Strategy "Public Health of the Commonwealth of Independent States" for 2024-2025, on the activities of the Intergovernmental Council for Cooperation in the veterinary field for 2019-2022, a set of measures for the implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation with the CIS states in mining and metallurgical industry of October 28, 2016, On the activities of the Interstate Cooperation Council in the Scientific, Technical and Innovative Spheres for 2018-2022, the Regulation on technological platforms within the framework of the Interstate Innovation Program of the CIS member States for the period up to 2030, the Interstate Target Program "Restoration of territories of States affected by uranium mining", on granting the status of the center for Commercialization of Innovations of the Interstate Program of Innovative Cooperation was considered CIS member states for the period up to 2030, etc.

At the end of the meeting, the members of the CIS Economic Council adopted relevant decisions on the agenda issues.
