At the meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the Deputy Director General of the European Union Commission for Central Asia, the level of bilateral cooperation was assessed positively

On November 28, 2023, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, met with the Deputy Director General of the European Union Commission for Central Asia, Ms. Dora Correia, and discussed expanding cooperation in the areas of trade, economics, industry, green economy, digitalization, energy, transport and logistics, environment and climate change between Tajikistan and the European Union.

At the meeting, Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that the Republic of Tajikistan considers the European Union a reliable and important partner in achieving the country’s strategic goals and socio-economic development.

At the same time, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade provided detailed information on the achievements of the Republic of Tajikistan in these areas and called on the European Union to increase funding for priority sectors of the Republic of Tajikistan, including green energy, especially the construction of hydroelectric power plants, industry, agriculture, transport and logistics, digitalization and strengthening borders.

In response, Ms. Dora Correia highly appreciated the efforts of the Republic of Tajikistan in achieving the strategic development goals of the country and expressed its readiness to support the priority sectors of Tajikistan.

It was also noted that in the first ten days of December 2023, in order to hold negotiations to discuss issues of expanding multilateral cooperation, a delegation of the European Union will visit Tajikistan.
