The Minister of Economic Development and Trade signed an act of delivery and acceptance of a gratuitous grant in the amount of $2 million for the construction of a meeting room in the new building of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan

On January 29, 2024, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Tajikistan Ji Shumin signed an act of delivery and acceptance of a gratuitous grant in the amount of $2 million for the construction of a meeting room in the new building of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

It should be noted that this grant comes from exchange letters signed between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the People's Republic of China on August 21, 2023 during the visit of the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the city of Dushanbe, respected Rustami Emomali to the People's Republic of China.

Also after the signing of this act, a meeting was held between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Tajikistan Ji Shumin.

Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that thanks to the wise and far-sighted policies of the leaders of the two countries, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the People's Republic of China, the respected Xi Jinping, trade and economic cooperation between the countries has reached a new level , and the volume of mutual foreign trade is increasing every year.

It was noted that mutual foreign trade between the countries in 2023 increased by 24 percent and China ranked second in the structure of the country’s foreign trade turnover.

During the meeting, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, the parties discussed priority areas of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including the creation of joint industrial enterprises in the Republic of Tajikistan, cooperation in the digital and green economy.

The parties also discussed the progress of construction of the new building of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in particular, building “B” of this facility.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
