The Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the State Minister of Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates agreed to expand bilateral trade and economic cooperation

On February 24, 2024, in the city of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, within the framework of the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO) countries, a meeting was held between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Z. A. and the State Minister of Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates Thani bin Ahmed Al Zayoudi.

Thanks to the wise and far-sighted policies of the leaders of both states, especially the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, the level of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Arab Emirates has reached a high level and is today developing in all areas.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation and bilateral investments.

Zavqizoda Z. A. called on his colleague to help attract investments from the United Arab Emirates in priority areas of the national economy, especially the construction and reconstruction of hydroelectric power plants, solar and wind power plants, the creation of joint industrial ventures, mining and the construction of logistics and tourism infrastructure.

It was noted with satisfaction that in 2023 the volume of bilateral foreign trade turnover increased by 84 percent.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further expand trade and economic cooperation.
