The Minister of Economic Development and Trade took part in the Sustainable Development Goals Forum in Geneva, Switzerland
On March 13-14 of this year, the official delegation of the country led by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, took part in the Sustainable Development Goals Forum, which was held within the framework of the United Nations Economic Commission for the European Region in Geneva, Switzerland.
This Forum hosted a high-level dialogue among member countries of the UN Economic Commission for Europe, and participants exchanged views on achievements and ongoing challenges in fully implementing the 2030 Agenda.
Zavkizoda Z. A. noted that Tajikistan, under the wise policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, respected Emomali Rahmon, has achieved significant success in implementing the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including despite the negative consequences of global economic crises, during 2015-2023 the average annual economic growth of the country was ensured by 7.5 percent, the gross domestic product increased by 3 times, the poverty level decreased by 1.6 times, as a result of which international financial organizations assessed the experience of Tajikistan in this direction as successful.
The delegation of Tajikistan also took part and spoke at separate sessions of the Forum related to poverty reduction (SDG 1) and expanding cooperation towards the transition to digitalization (SDG 17).
