The Minister of Economic Development and Trade met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Tajikistan
On April 2, 2024, a meeting was held between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Tajikistan Alireza Khakikyan.
Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that thanks to the far-sighted policy of the leaders of both countries - the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the respected Said Ibrahim Raisi, trade and economic cooperation between the states has reached a high level.
In this regard, it was noted that in 2023, the foreign trade turnover of Tajikistan and Iran increased by 6.8 percent compared to 2022 and amounted to $254.5 million.
During the meeting, Zavqizoda Z.A. in connection with the adoption of the necessary measures towards the creation of joint ventures for the production of construction materials, pharmaceuticals and processing of agricultural products, specific proposals were presented, which were welcomed by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and implement the issues noted.
