A regular meeting of the Supervisory Council of Free Economic Zones was held

In order to carry out the instructions and instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, chaired by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the Supervisory Council of Free Economic Zones, respected Kholikzoda Hokim Hikmatullo on April 5, 2024 in The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade held a regular meeting of this council with the participation of representatives of relevant ministries and departments.

It was noted that as of January 1, 2024, 96 domestic and foreign companies were registered in free economic zones, of which 35 subjects are included in the free economic zone "Sughd", 34 subjects are in the free economic zone "Dangara", 8 subjects are in free economic zone "Kulyab", 14 subjects in the free economic zone "Pyanj" and 5 subjects in the free economic zone "Ishkashim".

Since the beginning of activities in free economic zones, 1,462 jobs have been created, the total investment amounted to 2,350 million somoni.

Currently, the subjects of free economic zones have established the production of metal structures, aluminum and plastic profiles for windows and doors, plastic pipes and containers, electrical wiring, construction paints, metal-plastic products, wooden doors and windows, decorative building products, furniture and detergents, the volume of industrial production products in 2023 reached 445.6 million somoni (25.4 million somoni more compared to the same period in 2022). The volume of industrial production since the beginning of the free economic zones has reached 2302 million somoni.

At the meeting, reports were heard from the executive secretary of the Supervisory Council on free economic zones related to the implementation of decisions of previous meetings of the Supervisory Council, and reports from the heads of the administrations of the free economic zones “Sughd”, “Dangara”, “Kulyab”, “Pyanj” and “Ishkashim” on the activities of the zones in 2023.

The Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Deputy Chairman of the Council Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin took part in the discussions and made proposals on ways to further develop free economic zones.

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board gave specific instructions to the relevant ministries and departments and heads of administrations of free economic zones to eliminate existing shortcomings, strengthen the activities of free economic zones, create industrial enterprises, attract as much capital as possible, increase production and exports.
