The Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan discussed ways to increase mutual trade between countries

On May 15, 2024, in a friendly atmosphere, a meeting was held between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, and the Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Shakkaliev Amin Abaevich.

Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that thanks to the wise and far-sighted policies of the leaders of the two countries, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, respected Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, trade and economic cooperation between the states is developing and the relationship has reached the level of strategic partnership.

As a result, in the first quarter of 2024, the volume of foreign trade turnover with the Republic of Kazakhstan amounted to $328 million and, compared to the same period of the previous year, increased by $18 million, that is, by 6 percent.

At the meeting, the parties agreed to take additional measures to implement the instructions of the Presidents of the two countries, the protocol of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, the Roadmap to increase trade turnover between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2024, especially the export of fruits and vegetables and the implementation of investment projects.

Particular attention was also paid to the creation of wholesale distribution centers and the implementation of projects in the fields of energy and industry.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
