Issues of development of trade and economic cooperation were discussed between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Minister of Transport of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

On May 28, 2024, a meeting was held between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, and the Federal Minister of Transport/Concurrently responsible for Investment and Privatization of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Abdul Aleem Khan.

 

Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that thanks to the wise and far-sighted policies of the leaders of the two countries, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, trade and economic cooperation between the states is developing and has reached higher level.

During the meeting, Zavqizoda Z.A. having discussed investment opportunities in the Republic of Tajikistan, especially in industries such as textiles, mining and energy, requested Pakistani companies to establish joint ventures in the Republic of Tajikistan, which was welcomed.

In addition, the parties expressed their readiness to use the transport corridors of both countries, and the Federal Minister of Transport of Pakistan noted that Pakistan is ready to use the transit routes of Tajikistan as a gateway to the markets of Central Asia.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to increase bilateral trade turnover and make full use of the capabilities of both countries.
