State awards ceremony to medalists of XXXIII Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games

  

On August 14, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, President of the National Olympic Committee of the country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, received in the Palace of the Nation, as a sign of appreciation, the medalists of the XXXIII Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games, who returned home with bronze medals.

 

The Chairman of the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mayor of the city of Dushanbe, Honorable Rustami Emomali, was also present at the ceremony.

During the conversation, the Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon congratulated the athletes and the people of the country on their achievements in the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games.

The Leader of the Nation emphasized that their performance is a great achievement in the history of Tajik sports, and this is the outcome of the efforts and measures of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the National Olympic Committee, sports federations and the dedicated work of the wrestlers themselves, who returned to their homeland from a major international event with valuable results.

Honorable President of the country Emomali Rahmon stated that among 206 countries of the world, winning a medal and raising the state flag is a great honor, an important factor in the presentation of the state and the nation, raising the country's reputation and influence in the world arena, and motivation of the Tajik teenagers and youngsters to sports and healthy lifestyle.

Thus, based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan "On awarding the representatives of the sports sphere of the Republic of Tajikistan with the state award of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Prize of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the winners and prize-winners of international sports competitions", the following representatives of the sports field of the Republic of Tajikistan were conferred with the state award of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Prize of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the winners and prize-winners of international sports competitions for their valuable contribution to the development of sports, encouraging the winners and prize-winners of international competitions sports, increasing the level of participation of athletes of the Republic of Tajikistan in international sports competitions, including a high achievement in the XXXIII Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games – Boltaev Davlat Rustamovich – a member of the national boxing team of the Republic of Tajikistan, Rakhimov Temur Bakhtiyorovich – a member of the national team of the Republic of Tajikistan for judo wrestling, Mahmadbekov Somon Moyonshoevych – a member of the national team of the Republic of Tajikistan for judo wrestling and Mahmadzoir Ismoil – President of Judo Federation of Tajikistan were awarded with the Order of "Honor" II degree.

Three prize-winners of the Olympic Games – Boltaev Davlat, Mahmadbekov Somon and Rakhimov Temur were presented with apartment keys, a prize approved by the decision of the Mayor of the city of Dushanbe Rustami Emomali.

Today, at the state awards ceremony, each medalist of the Paris Olympic Games received a state award – the Order of “Honor” II degree, 200 thousand somoni – the Prize of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, an apartment and a modern electric car.

Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon ordered that all sports coaches who have made a significant contribution should be duly encouraged.

We remind that from July 26 to August 11, 2024, the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games were held in the capital of France – Paris.

32 types of sports were included in the program of the games, which were attended by 10,500 athletes from 206 countries of the world.

Tajikistan took the 79th position among 206 participating countries with three bronze medals.

Somon Mahmadbekov, Temur Rakhimov from judo wrestling and Davlat Boltaev from boxing – all won bronze medals at the Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

The Olympic team of Tajikistan consisted of 14 athletes.

Also, two other athletes of the country showed high results. Viktor Rassadin won fifth place in freestyle wrestling and Emomali Nurali took seventh place in judo wrestling.

Thus, the number of Olympic medals of Tajikistan at the time of the country's independence reached 7 – 1 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze.

At the end of the conversation, the Leader of the Nation, President of the National Olympic Committee of the country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, once again congratulated the wrestlers – the prize-winners of the XXXIII Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games, on their worthy achievement, and expressed with confidence that the young men of honor displaying high loyalty, responsibility and carrying out regular exercises and training in other sports competitions, shall return to their homeland with even higher results and defend the honor of Tajikistan on the world stage.
