The goals, priorities and achievements of the Government of the country in the direction of digitalization of the national economy sectors were presented
On September 20, 2024, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin took part and spoke at the National Forum "Sustainable Development through Innovation and Digitalization: Electronic Government and Digital Commerce", which was held in Dushanbe on the initiative of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, constantly pays special attention to the digitalization of the national economy, stating: "In the current conditions, the development of digital technologies is the main condition for economic competitiveness."
A number of important works were carried out to fulfill the instructions and orders of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Leader of the Nation, the respected Emomali Rahmon in the direction of digitalization of the national economy sectors. Including the Concept of the Digital Economy in the Republic of Tajikistan, the Medium-Term Program for the Development of the Digital Economy in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025, the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence in the Republic of Tajikistan for the Period up to 2040, the Electronic Commerce Program in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2025-2029, as well as amendments and additions to more than 100 regulatory legal acts adopted by the Government of the country, which are in the implementation stage.
Along with this, brief information was presented on the digitalization of 17 sectors of the national economy, including the digitalization of the modeling and forecasting system, the licensing system, state registration of entrepreneurial activity, electronic vouchers and invoices, the system of invoicing for electricity, cashless payments and banking services, the electronic financial transaction system SGB-net and the creation of the Taxpayer's Personal Account for electronic payment of taxes, the creation of the National Center for Digital Testing, a unified digital information system for healthcare management, digitalization of issuing a foreign passport and electronic visa, a Smart City with digital passenger transportation systems and others.
Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that over the past ten years, the pace of development of the digital economy has increased by 2.5 times compared to the development of the global economy, and the share of the digital economy on average is more than 15 percent of global GDP, and for some countries this figure reaches 40 percent. He added that the total volume of e-commerce in the world in 2016 was 17 trillion. dollars and grew to 27 trillion dollars in 2022 or 1.6 times, as well as smartphone users from 1 billion in 2014 to 5 billion in 2024 or increased 5 times.
In conclusion of his speech, Zavqizoda Z. A., along with the achieved results, presented specific proposals for the effective implementation of the goals and priorities of the Government of the country related to the digitalization of the national economy sectors.
The forum was also attended by representatives of the leadership of the relevant ministries and departments, the private sector and development partners.
