Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan with high-ranking representatives of the German Development Bank (KfW)
On October 28, 2024, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade hosted a meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Zavqizoda Zavki Amin, with Jonas Rotfelder, Regional Manager of the German Development Bank (KfW) for the Caucasus, Eastern Europe and Central Asia and Andreas Schneider– Head of the bank's representative office in Central Asia.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Head of the Department Zavqizoda Z. A. appreciated the bank's contribution to the socio-economic development of the country and noted that thanks to the wise and far–sighted policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon and the leadership of the Federal Republic of Germany, a solid foundation was created for further expansion of strategic partnership in the socio-economic spheres of the country.
During the meeting, current projects such as the Sebzor hydroelectric power plant, the Maternal and Child Health Program (Phase VI) and the construction of schools in rural areas, which will be implemented jointly with the European Union, were discussed.
Zavqizoda Z. A. called on the bank to invest and provide financial support to priority sectors of the national economy, such as industry, energy, healthcare and education, and suggested considering the possibility of Tajikistan returning to Germany's partner countries for development.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further expand cooperation and implement existing projects.
