Participation and speech of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade at the International Forum "Digital Tajikistan"
On November 25, 2024, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin took part and spoke at the International Forum "Digital Tajikistan", which was held on the initiative of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan in Dushanbe.
Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that the digitalization of sectors of the national economy, the formation of e-government and the use of artificial intelligence are constantly under the special attention of the Founder of Peace and national unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon. As the Leader of the Nation put it in one of his speeches: "In the current conditions, the development of digital technologies is the main condition for economic competitiveness."
At the same time, Zavqizoda Z. A. expressed his opinion on the contribution of the digital economy to the development of the economy of Tajikistan, the goals, priorities and achievements of the government of the country in the field of digitalization of sectors of the national economy and noted that in order to fulfill the instructions and instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Leader of the Nation, respected Emomali Rahmon, a number of important works have been done in this direction.
Including the Concept of the Digital Economy in the Republic of Tajikistan, the Medium-term Program for the Development of the Digital Economy in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025, the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence in the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2040, the e-commerce Program in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2025-2029, as well as amendments and additions to more than 100 regulatory legal acts adopted By the Government of the country, are under implementation.
Brief information was also provided on the digitalization of 17 sectors of the national economy, including the digitalization of the modeling and forecasting system, licensing systems, state registration of business activities, electronic vouchers and invoices, energy billing systems, non-cash payments and banking services, the electronic financial transactions system SGB-net and the creation of a taxpayer's Personal Account for electronic tax payment, creation of the National Digital Testing Center, a unified digital information system for healthcare management, digitalization, registration of a foreign passport and an electronic visa, a smart city with digital passenger transportation systems and others.
Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that over the past ten years, the pace of development of the digital economy has increased 2.5 times compared with the development of the global economy, and the share of the digital economy on average is more than 15 percent of global GDP, and for some countries this figure reaches 40 percent. He added that the total volume of e-commerce in the world amounted to 17 trillion dollars in 2016 to 27 trillion dollars in 2022 and increased 1.6 times, as did smartphone users from 1 billion in 2014 to 5 billion in 2024, or this figure increased 5 times.
At the end of the speech, the Head of the Department, Zavqizoda Z. A., along with the achieved results, presented specific proposals for the effective implementation of the goals and priorities of the government of the country related to the digitalization of the spheres of the national economy.
The Forum was attended by the leadership of relevant ministries and departments, representatives of the private sector and development partners.
