The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade hosted the signing ceremony of grant agreements with the German Development Bank (KfW)

On January 29, 2025, a signing ceremony was held for two grant agreements between the Republic of Tajikistan and the German Development Bank (KfW) totaling 10 million euros. The agreements were signed by Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin - Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, York Schuegraf - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Tajikistan, and Andreas Schneider - Regional Director of KfW for Central Asia.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that, thanks to the wise and far-sighted policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as cooperation with the German Development Bank (KfW) have been continuously developing and have reached a qualitatively new level.

It was highlighted that these projects include the construction of an additional building at the National Scientific Research Institute of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Perinatology in Dushanbe, as well as the renovation of the Central Hospital of Vahdat with modern medical equipment. The implementation of these projects aims to improve the quality of healthcare services, enhance maternal and child healthcare, and ensure public access to emergency medical assistance.

It should be noted that in recent years, the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany has allocated significant financial resources for the implementation of priority economic projects in Tajikistan. This includes 63 million euros for the construction of the «Sebzor» Hydropower Plant, 14 million euros for the construction of general education schools, 20 million euros for the development of rural infrastructure, 9.6 million euros for the development of agricultural value chains, and 11 million euros for the construction of a hospital for psychiatric and tuberculosis treatment, bringing the total amount of grant funding to 128 million euros.

At the end of the event Minister Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin expressed his gratitude to the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Development Bank (KfW) for their support and contribution to the sustainable economic and social development of the Republic of Tajikistan.
