The official delegation of Tajikistan met with the Minister of Commerce and Industry of Kuwait

  

On February 4, 2025, the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, headed by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin met with the Minister of Commerce and Industry of Kuwait Khalifa Abdullah Dohi Al-Ajil Al-Askar in Kuwait City.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that the results of high-level negotiations between the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Leader of the Nation, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, and the Emir of Kuwait His Highness Sheikh Mashal Al-Ahmad Al-Jabir Al-Sabah during the state visit on November 3-4, 2024, provided a new impetus for bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed and agreed on a draft roadmap for further expanding trade-economic, investment, and tourism cooperation to implement the directives and instructions of the leaders of both countries.

The Tajik side proposed specific suggestions for attracting direct investments from Kuwait in various sectors of industry, including mineral extraction, textile production, building materials, agricultural product processing, and tourism.

The Minister of Trade and Industry of Kuwait was invited to participate in the International Jewelers Forum, which will be held on March 24-26, 2025 in Dushanbe.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed their readiness to strengthen economic ties and implement joint projects.

The official delegation of Tajikistan included Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin (head of the delegation), Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Kuwait Zubaidzoda Zubaidullo, First Deputy Minister of Finance Majidi Yusuf Khayrullo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sharifzoda Farrukh, Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Resources Khudobakhsh Sharif, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Investment and State Property Management Yusufzoda Farrukh, Head of the Foreign Economic Department of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Ramazonov Bahodur, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development Salimzoda Ziyodullo, Deputy Director of the Export Agency Jamolzoda Abdughaffor, Head of the Department for Foreign Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Jovid Ikromi, Head of the International Relations Division of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies Timur Yoribek, as well as Head of the Africa Division of the Department for Middle Eastern and African Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sharifzoda Nizomjon.

Meetings of the Tajik delegation with representatives of relevant ministries and departments of Kuwait are ongoing.
