On February 24, 2025, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade with the First Deputy Minister Solehzoda Ashurboy Abduvahid and Chigdem Akin, Director of the Public Sector Management and Governance Division, Mission Leader, and Senior Public Sector Specialist of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Solehzoda A. A. noted that in order to implement the tasks outlined in the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated December 21, 2021, "On the Main Directions of Domestic and Foreign Policy of the Republic," the Strategy for the Development of a "Green" Economy in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023-2037 was adopted by the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on September 30, 2022, No. 482, and is currently in the implementation phase.

As part of the Strategy for the Development of a "Green" Economy in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023-2037, an Action Plan for the first phase (2023-2025) has been developed to specify activities related to the development of a "green" economy.

An important source for the development of a "green" economy in the country is the support and investments from financial institutions and development partners, whose financial cooperation plays a key role in implementing this strategy. Effective collaboration is being carried out with financial institutions and development partners, including the Asian Development Bank.

The strategy is divided into five phases according to the goals and objectives defined in its sections. The first and second phases (2023-2025 and 2026-2028) include activities aimed at promoting information about the "green" economy, training and forming ecological-economic thinking, integrating "green" economy principles into legal regulations, adhering to them in management decisions, and beginning to implement "green" economy standards in the country's socio-economic sectors.

Currently, preparations are underway in the ministry to develop the Action Plan for the second phase of the Strategy for 2026-2028, and successful cooperation has been established to attract foreign investments. The First Deputy Minister emphasized that the Asian Development Bank is one of Tajikistan's reliable partners, and its role is highly valued in achieving the goals and priorities of developing a "green" economy.

The parties exchanged views on the implementation of investment projects with grant funds from the Asian Development Bank and highlighted priority areas for integrating "green" economy principles in sectors such as agriculture, energy, circular economy, e-commerce, and other areas.

The parties agreed to continue their cooperation on implementing the Strategy for the Development of a "Green" Economy in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023-2037 and to take concrete measures to realize the proposed initiatives.
