A Ceremony Dedicated to the Completion of an Important Stage of the IRDP/TRIGGER Project Held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade
Today, a solemn ceremony was held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan to mark the completion of an important stage of the Integrated Rural Development Program (IRDP TRIGGER), which is being implemented with the financial support of the European Union and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ), and with technical assistance from GIZ.
The event was chaired by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin. The ceremony was attended by the EU Ambassador to Tajikistan, Raimundas Karoblis, the project director, Wulf Goretzki, development partners, and other project participants.
In his opening remarks, Zavqizoda Z. A. emphasized that, thanks to the wise and far-sighted policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, bilateral relations and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and international partners are steadily developing, creating a strong foundation for the implementation of productive and impactful projects.
During his speech, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade congratulated all project partners and participants on the successful completion of the next stage of implementation and noted that the IRDP TRIGGER project has become a significant step towards increasing agricultural productivity and competitiveness, improving access to domestic and international markets, strengthening youth entrepreneurship opportunities, enhancing water resource management, and promoting sustainable rural development.
The project covered the Sughd and Khatlon regions, as well as the Zarafshan and Rasht valleys, making a substantial contribution to improving the socio-economic conditions of the population, supporting small-scale producers, strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors, introducing international standards, and enhancing the country’s export potential.
In conclusion, the Minister expressed sincere gratitude to the European Union, the Government of Germany, and GIZ for implementing such vital regional projects, which serve as excellent examples of productive cooperation and significantly contribute to sustainable economic growth and the improvement of living standards.
