The first Coordination Meeting between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Korea took place at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade
On May 7, 2025, under the leadership of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Tajikistan, Chung Sung-sik.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, the Ministry of Transport, as well as representatives from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
In his speech, Zavqizoda Z. A. emphasized that the wise policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Leader of the Nation, respected Emomali Rahmon, has created a solid foundation for the development of cooperation between Tajikistan and Korea. Thanks to this wise policy, mutual trust is increasing, creating favorable conditions for attracting funding for priority projects in national economic sectors and implementing joint projects.
It was noted that the Republic of Korea is a reliable and long-term partner of the Republic of Tajikistan, and cooperation with this country has rapidly developed over the past decade, with its investment projects reaching over 73 million dollars.
During the meeting, Zavqizoda Z. A. highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation within the framework of existing KOICA projects and presented specific proposals for investments and priority infrastructure projects, including the establishment of a Digital Services Center at the ministry, construction of solar power plants in remote areas, erection of modern greenhouses, strengthening riverbanks and managing irrigation, creation of a vocational and technical training center in the textile industry, establishment of a joint industrial park in free economic zones, development of export logistics, and scientific research.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue regular dialogue to ensure ongoing monitoring of project implementation and further strengthen economic and investment cooperation.
