Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the Head of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC)

  

On May 19, 2025, within the framework of the annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB), which will be held in Algiers from May 19 to 22, 2025, a meeting was held between the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan led by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade / Plenipotentiary Representative of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) from the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin and the Head of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) Adeeb Yahya.

Zavqizoda Z. A. at the beginning emphasized that under the leadership of the far-sighted policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Leader of the Nation, the respected Emomali Rahmon, the cooperation of the Republic of Tajikistan with the Islamic Development Bank Group, including ITFC, has strengthened in recent years and reached a qualitatively new level.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the process of implementing the Framework Agreement on Financial Support for 2023-2026 and noted the need for its effective implementation. It should be noted that this agreement was signed in 2023 in the city of Jeddah, and provides for attracting financing in the amount of 100 million dollars for priority investment projects of the country.

The Tajik side also proposed to increase financing in such areas as the production of environmentally friendly products, textiles and infrastructure development.

In response, the management of ITFC expressed its support for the proposed areas and emphasized the readiness of the institution to develop specific ways for financing.

It should be noted that since 2008, ITFC has sent more than 210 million dollars in trade financing to the national economy of the country.

The official delegation of Tajikistan consists of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade/Plenipotentiary Representative of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) from the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin (head of the delegation), First Deputy Minister of Finance, Alternate Administrator Majidi Yusuf, First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank Sharifzoda Firuz and Chairman of the State Unitary Enterprise PPEB "Sanoatsodirotbank" Bobozoda Khokimshoh.

Meetings of the official delegation of Tajikistan within the framework of the annual meeting of the IDB Group continue with other international financial organizations.
