The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan took part in the official opening ceremony of the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group

  

On May 20, 2025, the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan led by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade/Authorized Representative of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) from the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin took part in the official opening ceremony of the annual meetings of the IDB Group, which were held in the Republic of Algeria.

The annual meetings of the IDB are held from 19 to 22 May 2025 under the motto "Diversifying Economies, Improving Lives" with the participation of representatives of 57 member countries, international organizations and development partners, who discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and sustainable development during the event.

The official opening ceremony was addressed by the President of the IsDB Group, Dr. Mohammed Sulaiman Al Jasser, who noted that in 2024, the IsDB Group had committed investment projects for member countries worth $13 billion, of which $9 billion was allocated for financing.

In 2024, other important units of the IsDB Group, such as the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), financed projects of member countries worth over $7 billion, while the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) allocated $663 million.

In addition, the meeting approved the new IsDB Strategy for 2026-2035, which identifies priority areas such as the development of a green economy, ensuring food security, developing irrigation infrastructure, and preventing the effects of climate change.

At the annual meeting, in addition to other ministers, a video was shown with a speech by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, National Director of the Islamic Development Bank from Tajikistan Zavqizoda Z. A. on the topic “Under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the country is promoting economic diversification through green, innovative and digital development”.

The official delegation of Tajikistan consists of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade/Plenipotentiary Representative of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) from the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin (head of the delegation), First Deputy Minister of Finance, Alternate Administrator Majidi Yusuf, First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank Sharifzoda Firuz and Chairman of the State Unitary Enterprise PPEB “Sanoatsodirotbonk” Bobozoda Khokimshoh.

Meetings of the official delegation of Tajikistan within the framework of the annual meeting of the IDB Group continue with other international financial institutions.
