Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the Head of the Islamic Development Corporation for the Private Sector (ICD)

  

On May 21, 2025, within the framework of the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB), held from 19 to 22 May 2025 in the Republic of Algeria, a meeting was held between the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade/IsDB Plenipotentiary Representative from the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin and the Acting Director General of the Islamic Development Corporation for the Private Sector (ICD) Khalid Khalafallah.

At the beginning of the meeting, Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that thanks to the wise policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Leader of the Nation, the respected Emomali Rahmon, Tajikistan's cooperation with the institutions of the IDB Group, including the ICD, has acquired strategic importance and reached a qualitatively new level.

During the meeting, new opportunities for cooperation were discussed, including the development of investment mechanisms through other stable local banks, the Islamic leasing model, support for small and medium-sized businesses and priority projects for the real sector of the national economy.

The Tajik side emphasized the importance of cooperation with ICD in areas such as textile industry, green energy and logistics, proposing to conduct a technical mission of ICD in Tajikistan to assess the current state and develop a specific work plan.

In response, the head of ICD responded positively to the proposed areas, confirming his readiness to continue mutual cooperation.

The official delegation of Tajikistan consists of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade/IsDB Plenipotentiary Representative from the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin (head of the delegation), First Deputy Minister of Finance, Alternate Administrator Majidi Yusuf, First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank Sharifzoda Firuz and Chairman of the State Unitary Enterprise PPEB "Sanoatsodirotbank" Bobozoda Khokimshoh.

Meetings of the official delegation of Tajikistan within the framework of the annual meeting of the IDB Group continue with other international financial organizations.
