Participation of the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Astana International Forum and the second meeting of the Ministers of Economy and Trade of the Central Asia-China Format

On May 30, 2025, in Astana, the Republic of Kazakhstan, within the framework of the Astana International Forum (AIF), the second meeting of the Ministers of Economy and Trade of the Central Asia-China Format was held, in which the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, led by the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade – Solehzoda Ashurboy Abduvohid, took part and spoke.

The meeting, which was chaired by the Republic of Kazakhstan, discussed issues of strengthening economic and trade cooperation, sustainable development, strengthening supply chains and regional production, eliminating non-tariff barriers and attracting investment.

In his speech, Solehzoda A. A., referring to the wise and far-sighted policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, esteemed Emomali Rahmon, emphasized the firm position of the Republic of Tajikistan on expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with the countries of the region and the People's Republic of China within the framework of the "Central Asia - China" mechanism and noted that such meetings create a real basis for consolidating the economic potential of the region.

During his speech, Solehzoda A. A., emphasized the importance of implementing the Green Economy Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023-2037 and Tajikistan's international initiatives in the field of ecology and climate, noting the International Conference on Glacier Protection, held on May 29-31, 2025 in Dushanbe, as an important global initiative.

During the meeting of ministers, drafts of four key cooperation documents were agreed upon and approved: Action Plan between the Ministries of Economy and Trade of the Central Asia-China Format to Strengthen Economic and Trade Cooperation; Memorandum of Understanding of the Central Asia-China Format to Strengthen Cooperation in Duty-Free Trade; Memorandum of Understanding of the Central Asia-China Format to Expand Cooperation in Investments in Green Minerals; the final document of the second meeting of the Ministers of Economy and Trade of the Central Asia-China Format. These documents will be signed on June 16-17, 2025 in Astana as part of the second summit of the heads of state of the Central Asia-China Format.

In addition, during the meeting of ministers, Solehzoda A. A. held meetings with the Deputy Minister of Trade of the People's Republic of China and heads of other official delegations of the participating countries on current issues of bilateral cooperation.

Following the meeting of ministers, the First Deputy Minister declared the full readiness of the Republic of Tajikistan for the comprehensive implementation of the above-mentioned documents and the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation with the participating countries.
