On June 18, 2025, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade between the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Solehzoda Ashurboy Abduvohid and the Head of the Eurasian Department of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Mr. William Thompson and his delegation.

The purpose of the visit and meeting of the OECD representatives is to strengthen cooperation within the framework of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor initiative and discuss the possibilities of developing economic and logistical integration in the Central Asian region.

At the beginning of the meeting, Solehzoda A. A. noted that thanks to the wise policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation - President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, significant work has been done to build and reconstruct international roads, transform transport corridors into economic ones and, thus, turn Tajikistan into a transit country. In this area, cooperation with international development partners and partner countries of Tajikistan has significantly improved.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of expanding regional cooperation in the areas of road infrastructure, simplification of trade procedures, creation of logistics centers, as well as the transition to a "green" and digital economy.

It was emphasized that for landlocked countries such as Tajikistan, ensuring access to international markets through the development of sustainable and multi-vector corridors is of strategic importance. In this context, the Trans-Caspian Corridor and other emerging routes can play a key role in expanding export opportunities, attracting investment and strengthening regional cooperation.

Also during the meeting, special attention was paid to issues of increasing digital integration, coordinating electronic customs platforms and introducing climate-resilient infrastructure.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for further cooperation in the implementation of joint projects and new initiatives.
