On July 16, 2025, a meeting was held between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin and the Minister of Economy and Tourism of the UAE Abdullah bin Tawq Al Marri.

Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that thanks to the wise policy of the leaders of the two countries, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the UAE, Honorable Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, bilateral relations have reached a high level.

It was noted that the volume of mutual trade between the two countries in the first six months of 2025 has more than doubled. Despite this, the parties emphasized the need to expand bilateral trade and agreed to fully utilize untapped opportunities in areas such as industry, green energy, agriculture, aviation, tourism and logistics.

During the meeting, Zavqizoda Z. A. asked the UAE side to implement investment projects in priority areas of the national economy, including digitalization, processing, production, infrastructure, logistics and tourism.

Given the importance of green energy, Zavqizoda Z. A. highly appreciated the participation of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development in the construction of the Rogun HPP and called for accelerating the process of coordinating and preparing the necessary documents for the earliest possible signing of the investment agreement.

In response to the proposals made, the UAE side stated that it considers Tajikistan as a reliable partner with broad prospects for economic cooperation in the region and is ready to facilitate the consideration of proposals and expand cooperation, including attracting more Emirati investments in priority areas.

It should be noted that as part of the official visit of the UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, an Economic, Investment and Tourism Forum will be held tomorrow with the participation of Tajik and Emirati business circles.
