Meeting of the Delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan withState Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan

On April 14, 2017, in the framework the first session of the Tajikistan-Japan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Technical and Scientific Cooperation the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. NematulloHikmatullozoda held meetingwith the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Mr. Nobuo Kishi.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the issues of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, including the course of realization of the agreements reached following the summit talks between the Founder of the Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. EmomaliRahmon and the Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Shinzo Abe, who paid an official visit to Tajikistan in 2015.

The importance of cooperation within the framework of the Tajikistan-Japan Intergovernmental Commission was highlighted and the confidence was expressed that the holding of the first session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Technical and Scientific Cooperation would promote the activation of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, and would open a new stage of its further expansion.

An exchange of views on topical issues of the regional agenda was also held.
