Meeting of the Delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan with the Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan
On April 14, 2017, on the sideline of the First Session of Tajikistan-Japan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Technical and Scientific Cooperation the meeting of the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan held meeting with the Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Mr. Toshinao Nakagawa. The Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mr. NematulloHikmatullozoda headed the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the sides discussed bilateral issues of cooperation in the light of the outcome of the meeting of the heads of the two countries, including the expansion of bilateral cooperation in such fields as economy, trade, energy, investment, as well as implementation of joint projects in the fields of energy and mining.
The two sides agreed that there is a huge untapped potential between two countries, which needs to be used extensively for building up cooperation in the above-mentioned areas. In this context, it was stressed that holding the First Session of the Intergovernmental Commission will strengthen the existing platform for economic cooperation and give a new impetus to its further development.
The parties noted that the trade and economic structures of both countries should make a feasible contribution to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
The exchange of views took place on the topical issues of the regional and international agenda, which are of mutual interest. In this context, the interlocutors confirmed their readiness at the level of the relevant ministries to support the international initiatives of the two countries in the international arena.
