Meeting of the Delegation of the Republic of Tajikistanwith Senior Vice-President of JICA
On April 14, 2017, in the margin of the First Session of the Tajikistan-Japan Intergovernmental Commission, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Nematullo Hikmatullozoda met with Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, Mr. Hidetoshi Irigaki.
The sides touched upon the current state and prospects of further cooperation between the two countries. The sides also discussed the implementation of the agreements reached after the meeting of the Founder of the Peace and Nation Unity, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Emomali Rahmon and the Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Shinzo Abe, in the framework of the above-mentioned aspects.
The sides elaborated on the importance of implementation of joint projects on the territory of Tajikistan and the recent working visit JICA delegation to Tajikistan. The parties agreed that the implementation of current and planned projects in the fields of education and human resource development, health care, construction and reconstruction of roads, energy, strengthening agricultural infrastructure and water supply of the population makes a significant contribution to the implementation of the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period until 2030 and Medium-Term Development Programs for 2016-2020.
They also exchanged views on a number of topical issues of mutual interest.
